Hi there I'm Chuck Williams and I work at a handful of technology projects at church and at home.
- Using Linux, Apple, and Microsoft computers
- Doing livestream, stage technology, and publishing
- I'm a content creator too
In my previous life I was a shop rat for printing and publishing companies doing page layouts and typesetting. Then came the internet so I got a degree and continued doing page layouts but for web pages.
I first performed manual typesetting in 1960, computer typesetting in 1975, desktop publishing 1986, and internet publishing in 1993.
I studied journalism and computers.
In retirement I produce a monthly newsletter, create content in social media, and toil at technology in stage production.
Media Studio
HDMI extender, Mackie sound board, slide show manager, vMix livestream app.
Mackie sound board
Controls sound: stage microphones, speakers, hdmi extenders, and computers.
Pan Zoom Camera
Fixed-position camera. Its controller uses presets and joystick.
Content Creator
Write, edit, layout, photo, video
Desktop Publishing
I do typesetting, page layout, proofreading, and final approval. Today I use Viva Designer.
Writing and Editing
Whether it's artificial or human intelligence, it's still gotta get done. I'm just a cog in the machine.
Photography and Video
Canon Rebel and Apple iPhone are my cameras. For post-production I use Gimp and Kdenlive. (I shot all photos on this page.)
There must be dozens of computer Desktop Publishing programs that prepare pictures and text for publishing. Currently I use Viva Designer.
Other favorites of mine since 1987 include Pagemaker, Indesign, and Quark Xpress.

vmix & mackie
vMix is livestream software which broadcasts to Youtube, Facebook, as well as several rooms in our church building.
The Mackie sound board is integral to our livestreaming.
